At a press conference in Otoe County, Osborn said a current crisis in the agriculture economy and the failure of Congress to pass a farm bill since 2018 are examples of a “two-party doom loop.”
“Congress should not be paid until we pass a farm bill, period. They need to do the job that they are elected to do...The day I did a press conference similar to this one in Lexington, after Tyson closed that plant, I accused them of breaking the law - my opponent Sen. Ricketts came out and said 'I’m going to look into this for everyone here.’ The day after that, according to the FEC reports, Tyson cut the Ricketts campaign a check. That’s our politics today.”

The NDP said petitions are beginning to circulate in Omaha that encourage registered Nebraska voters to create a “Nebraska Working People Party” ahead of the November election. A Nebraska Public Media News reporter saw petitions circulating Sunday at the Aksarben Farmers Market in Omaha.
