Like Minded Friends Meetings
Like Minded Friends will meet every Monday at 7PM at First United Methodist Church at at 7020 Cass Street Omaha, NE. Door Number 11, unless announced otherwise. A regular meeting of Like Minded Friends will meet, and the next Monday, the meeting will feature a guest speaker to be announced.
Kimara Snipes Will Speak On Direct Action Organizing
Kimara Snipes will be speaking at our LMF Meeting on Monday, November 10th - 7pm, at the First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St. She is a member of the Omaha Public Schools Board of Education in Nebraska, representing Sub District 9, and a long time advocate for neighborhood support.
Tell Nebraska Officials: No Partnerships with ICE
Nebraska is directly supporting the Trump's mass deportation goals, which is reducing community trust, hurting public safety through 287(g) agreements and a deportation collaboration program that puts local resources into immigration enforcement. Add your name to tell Gov. Pillen and other officials that these agreements must end.

We know there is a real need for food and hygiene items for lots of individuals in Omaha. So we would like you to bring a few items to our meetings, and we will get these to those in need. Thank you!
Respect Nebraska Voters!
Gov. Jim Pillen announced that he will opt Nebraska in to the new federal voucher program, even though voters overwhelmingly rejected vouchers at the ballot box just months ago. Gov. Pillen is ignoring the will of the people of Nebraska. We said NO to vouchers. This program doesn't begin until 2027, giving the Governor ample time to honor voters' wishes and opt Nebraska out. Tell Pillen: NO Public Dollars for Private Schools!

SNAP Benefits Update: Ketanji Brown Jackson Gives Trump New Deadline
Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has given Trump's administration until 4 p.m. ET on Monday, Nov 10 - to submit an additional brief to support its request for a stay on a lower court's ruling that it must pay the November SNAP benefits in full by using funds from other Child Nutrition Programs during the federal government shutdown.
